Job description

A US-based company specializing in selling luxury furniture online is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for delegating work and providing opportunities for other engineers on the team to learn and grow. The company is revolutionizing the furniture industry with the help of a modular platform and focusing on not just the basic functionality but also the fashion aspect. The company has managed to successfully raise close to $55 mn in funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create scalable software solutions by leveraging modern technologies and adhering to the project's software development lifecycle
  • Enhance code quality with reviews, testing, and best practices
  • Develop roadmaps and set priorities in collaboration with the Director of Engineering and Product Manager
  • Improve the technical stack by focusing on performance, security, high availability, and scalability
  • Comfortable delegating work and working in pairs to both teach and learn

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience
  • Knowledge of Node and React
  • Expertise in JavaScript, utilizing both the client and server 
  • Familiarity with Redux, Webpack, or similar technologies
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to write detailed technical documents
  • Experience with e-commerce and/or online payments is nice to have
  • Experience with cloud computing providers like AWS, GCP, and Azure is preferred
  • Knowledge of Next.js is strongly preferred
