Job description

An NYSE-listed company that is delivering an enterprise hybrid data cloud to users by leveraging the power of advanced technology, is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The engineer will be partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver well-engineered, tested, and timely solutions. The company's reliable technology is speeding up digital transformation and helping businesses to power mission-critical use cases with data-driven insights. They have successfully managed to raise around $1bn in funding so far. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Acknowledge customer requests and escalations regularly 
  • Iterate quickly and deliver maintenance releases for data platforms 
  • Support existing customers by dispatching hotfixes and reiterations 
  • Drive system test analysis, deliver improvements, bug fixes, and backports on the platform 
  • Perform root cause analysis, debug issues at the client deployments and resolve failures
  • Work on test framework, and automation tools
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of Hadoop components across the stack 
  • Work on improving the software architecture

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Minimum of 4 years development experience in Java programming
  • Proficiency in relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, ER modeling, and performance optimization 
  • Demonstrable development experience in Linux environments
  • Prolific communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with collaboration tools including Jenkins and Jira
  • Familiarity with software development tools such as JUnit and Maven is a bonus
  • Ability to understand and address complex problems and suggest solutions
  • Potential to work efficaciously both autonomously and as a team
  • Demonstrable interest in distributed computing and high availability systems is nice to have
  • Prior experience in a distributed database, Big Data, and/or NoSQL
  • Previous contribution in open source software and ability to drive test automation is preferred
