Job description

A fast-growing company that uses innovative technology to build a never-before-seen digital car-shopping experience is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The selected candidate will work closely with teammates and engineers to build back-end functionalities. The company is building the next-generation FinTech technologies that are high-quality and scalable. They have managed to raise more than $2mn in funding so far. This role requires 2+ hours overlap with the PST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Brainstorm with product managers, designers, and engineers to conceptualize and build new features
  • Design, build and maintain APIs, services, and systems critical to the consumer experience
  • Look out for project risks, propose and build team consensus around project alternatives
  • Own the delivery of high-quality results by applying engineering and best QA practices
  • Assist the customer support team in triaging and resolving production issues
  • Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
  • Mentor other engineers and advocate standard engineering practices

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 3+ years of experience working with Python 
  • Prolific experience building APIs and back-end systems using ORMs like SQLAlchemy
  • Experience with automated testing (unit, functional, and integration tests) on a cloud platform like AWS
  • Capable of producing educational code reviews and architectural reviews
  • Strong general problem-solving and logical reasoning ability
  • Fluency in verbal and written English
  • Good communication skills and efficient team player
  • Can function effectively without frequent hand-holding and micromanagement
