Job description

A fast-growing company building a new digital car-shopping experience with their next-gen FinTech technologies is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The selected candidate will work closely with the Director of Engineering on a specific project for the company with opportunities to switch projects as the company grows and evolves. The US-based company is building the best digital car marketplace in the world by empowering consumers and dealers through an AI-driven, customer-centric experience. They have managed to secure funding worth more than $2bn so far. This role requires some overlap with the PST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Build products that can reliably handle information at scale and process millions of dollars
  • Help build an outstanding automotive FinTech platform
  • Collaborate closely with the web and mobile engineers to build back-end functionalities that power the company’s consumer experience
  • Take on new problems across the full-stack and continue to push technology forward
  • Brainstorm with product managers, designers, and engineers to conceptualize and construct new features
  • Design, build and maintain APIs, services, and systems that are crucial to the user experience
  • Identify project risks and propose and build team consensus around project alternatives
  • Take control of the delivery of high-quality results by implementing engineering and QA best practices
  • Assist the customer support team in identifying and resolving manufacturing problems
  • Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to other team members

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Extensive experience with Python
  • Prior experience building APIs and back-end systems using ORMs like SQLAlchemy
  • Knowledge of automated testing like unit, functional, and integration tests on a cloud platform like AWS
  • Experience conducting thorough and educational code reviews and architectural reviews
  • Fluent in English communication
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
