Job description

An emerging company committed to building a new digital car shopping experience for users worldwide is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality results by applying engineering and QA best practices. The company is revolutionizing the industry with its car-as-a-service concept and has secured more than $2bn in funding so far. The candidate will brainstorm with product managers, designers, engineers and improve the engineering standards, tooling, and processes.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and build new features
  • Design, build and maintain APIs, services, and systems critical to the company’s consumer experience
  • Identify project risks, suggest and construct team consensus around other options
  • Aid the customer support team in triaging and fixing production cases
  • Mentor other engineers and guide them through the industry’s best practices
  • Perform thorough and educational code reviews and architectural reviews

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 3+ years of professional experience working with dynamic, high-level languages like Ruby
  • Prior experience building APIs and back-end systems using ORMs like ActiveRecord
  • Experience working with automated testing (unit, functional, and integration tests) on a cloud platform like AWS
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
