Job description

A rapidly-growing company that is building a never-before-seen digital car-shopping experience that will help transform the industry is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The selected engineer will work closely with the web and mobile engineers to build back-end functionalities that power the company’s checkout experience. The company is creating the world’s best digital auto marketplace by leveraging the power of AI-driven technology to empower consumers and dealers. This is a great opportunity for developers to work with industry veterans and sharpen their skills.

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Brainstorm with the team to conceptualize and implement new features
  • Design, build and maintain APIs, services, and some critical, consumer-focused systems 
  • Identify project risks, propose and build team consensus around project alternatives
  • Take responsibility for the delivery of standard results through the application of engineering and QA best practices
  • Assist the customer support team in triaging and resolving production issues
  • Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
  • Mentor and guide other engineers

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 5+ years of professional experience with dynamic, high-level languages
  • Solid Ruby experience building APIs and back-end systems using ORMs like ActiveRecord
  • Extensive experience with automated testing (unit, functional, and integration tests) on cloud platforms like AWS
  • Keen interest in performing thorough, educational, and architectural code reviews
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
