Job description

One of the largest charter operators in the global private aviation industry is looking for a Senior Software Engineer. The selected candidate will work closely with the company’s business units and the wider tech team to deliver efficient digital processes. The company's goal is to provide business aviation customers worldwide with the greatest end-to-end service and technology. Job Responsibilities:

  • Support and extend a legacy system, evolving it into a cloud-based system
  • Maintain and develop systems and processes to help the team deploy, monitor, test, and continuously deliver new features and improvements to the existing technology
  • Ensure the software delivered is of a high-quality 
  • Proactively seek opportunities to adopt continuous improvement initiatives
  • Champion efficiency, automation, and software development best practices 
  • Provide technical consultation as well as expertise to Project Managers and technical stakeholders 
  • Assist with designing solutions for the project
  • Collaborate to maintain roadmap, estimations and oversee the delivery of projects, estimates, and user stories
  • Coordinate to resolve impediments and conduct root cause analysis
  • Troubleshoot escalated issues along with the support team

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 10+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer and expertise in the C language
  • Prior experience with Unit and Integration test
  • Experience with Python and Typescript is nice to have
  • Knowledge of relational DBs like MySQL, Oracle, Aurora, and SQL
  • Experience with RESTful APIs
  • Experience with Messaging like Kafka, JMS, and SNS/SQS
  • Prolific knowledge of Git and AWS
  • Experience with Linux deployments
  • Good understanding of Scrum, DevOps, and Agile development  
  • Extensive experience working with JIRA and Confluence
  • Familiarity with DDD, BDD, TDD, and Design Patterns
  • Experience in building business-critical applications that are highly available and performant
  • Experience supporting and extending legacy applications
  • Experience working in an Agile environment
  • Extensive problem-solving skills and drive to deliver quality software
  • Great attention to detail and ability to understand issues on a microscopic level
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
