Job description

A leading OTT video-streaming platform for mobile devices that is actively used by 300+ mn users, is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for building high quality, ship-ready solutions and products that delight the users and will be working with a team of highly skilled, passionate professionals that work closely with engineering and product teams. The company offers their services in 6 countries, 17 languages and has managed to raise $226.8mn in funding so far. This is a great opportunity for engineers to work with industry leaders and quickly rise through the ranks.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on developing back-end tools and frameworks for testing Rest APIs, microservices, data migration processes, failover scenarios, and also  blue-green deployment
  • Build multiple distributed systems for performance and scale testing tasks
  • Contribute to testing distributed big data solutions and mid-tier caches like Aeropsike, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, Hadoop, Cassandra, and/or Kafka
  • Work on maintaining software development best practices for processes like unit testing, OO design, code reviews, etc.
  • Write codes using Linux commands and shell scripts
  • Contribute to building and publishing POCs
  • Write high-level codes that can be reused and scaled up whenever deemed necessary
  • Work with the problem-solving attitude
  • Collaborate with team members from other departments regularly

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 6+ years of experience in software QA methodologies, tools and processes, and Agile/Scrum development process
  • Must be able to write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and cases
  • Experienced in DevOps activities, request-response structures, error and status codes
  • Well-versed in SQL and scripting using languages like Java/Python, etc.
  • Experience with Amazon AWS or similar cloud providers
  • Should have professional experience in white box and black box testing using automated testing tools
  • Must possess a strong understanding of OOPs concepts, REST APIs, and their usage
  • In-depth knowledge of release and deployment flow especially in iOS & Android
  • Professional knowledge of performance and security testing protocols will be beneficial
