Job description

A US-based health-focused enterprise that operates on a global network by connecting businesses and people through the power of blockchain is looking for a Senior Java Engineer. The engineer will be working on multiple projects throughout the company and seamlessly transition from one project to the next. The company is engaging in a digital-first strategy while focusing on human health data and revolutionizing how sensitive data is collected, managed, and controlled. During their Series A round, the company raised more than $5.5mn in funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a high-quality, complete front-end application
  • Develop tools and applications by producing clean, efficient code
  • Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting
  • Review and debug code
  • Ascertain a clear dependence chain, both in terms of the app logic and the file system
  • Perform validation and verification testing
  • Architect and automate the build process for production
  • Document the code inline using JSDoc or other conventions
  • Write extensive unit tests using automated TDD tasks
  • Create e2e test suites for all components and run them with Protractor (or a well-reasoned alternative)
  • Create configuration, build, and test scripts for Continuous Integration environments
  • Ensure high performance on mobile and desktop
  • Write tested, idiomatic, and documented JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Coordinate the workflow between designers and coder
  • Cooperate with the back-end developer to build the RESTful API
  • Communicating with external web services

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5-10+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Thorough understanding of React.js and its core principles
  • Proficiency with React Hooks and state management
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript / ES6 as well as RESTful APIs
  • Solid understanding of fundamental web technologies like HTTP, REST, and JSON
  • Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, NPM, etc.
  • Working knowledge of version control systems such as Git
  • Strong CSS skills and prior experience designing responsive applications utilizing the latest CSS3 approaches across a number of browsers and devices
  • Communication skills that are both professional and precise
  • Experience creating self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components
  • In-depth understanding of the responsibilities of the platform, database, API, caching layer, proxies, and other web services used in the system
  • Experience building solid infrastructure at scale 
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving aptitude
  • Ability to work independently and excellent organizational skills
  • Nice to have a demonstrable background in the Healthcare sector
