Senior Front-end Developer

A mission-driven, non-profit company developing a distributed, open-source platform for global teams is looking for a Senior Front-end Developer. The developer will work with the product delivery team to create and execute the delivery of technologies and services supporting the company’s vision. The candidate will be responsible for building web applications and infrastructures with a focus on solving user needs. The company is backed by leading investors and collaborates with educators, schools, and publishers to implement ground-breaking capabilities and workflows. The role is well-suited for those who want to join a diverse, supportive, and highly collaborative team of technologists, educators, and business individuals to achieve a common goal. It requires some time overlap with the EST time zone.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a senior front-end developer
• Must have experience in JavaScript/TypeScript, React/Preact, and SASS
• Proficiency with Python, Pyramid, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, AWS, Docker, and Ansible is preferred
• Familiarity with the web platform, browsers, and fundamental technologies such as (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP, etc.) 
• Track record of building rich web applications using the latest technologies (e.g., React, Vue, ES6+)
• An understanding of architectural patterns and tools used to build modern web applications
• Prior experience profiling and debugging web applications with practical problem-solving skills
• Hands-on work with developers of open source projects in resolving bugs or implementing improvements
• Sound documentation and verbal communication skills to collaborate efficiently with the team
• Excellent productive habits, awareness, teamwork skills, and instincts
• Relevant work in guiding front-end best practices and delivering modern team frameworks/libraries 
• Flair for knowledge with a commitment to improving both as a technologist and a human
