Job description

A U.S.-based company that is developing a platform with a subscription model that offers a personal finance application for tracking spending, is looking for a React Native Engineer. The engineer will be in charge of addressing performance concerns in the application's native and JavaScript layers. Users may monitor all of their investments, transactions, and account balances in one location with the company's sophisticated finance platform. The company has managed to secure $19.6mn+ during their Series A round of funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:


  • On the personal finance app, debug and fix problems with the third-party libraries and React Native libraries
  • Resolve build-related problems that come up throughout the development phase
  • To guarantee a flawless user experience on both the iOS and Android platforms, cooperate with cross-functional teams
  • Take responsibility for improving the personal financial app's functionality, paying special attention to the problems encountered by Android users
  • Write effective, readable, and clean code
  • Keep abreast of emerging developments and industry best practices for mobile development


Job Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • 5+ years of experience developing mobile apps, with an emphasis on Android Native and React Native
  • Proven ability to optimize app speed and debug React Native libraries
  • Thorough familiarity with the Android SDK, several Android versions, and handling of various screen widths
  • In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs for linking Android apps to back-end services
  • Strong familiarity with best practices, patterns, and principles of Android UI design
  • Productive background in threading, offline storage, and performance optimization
  • Ability to create software with natural user interfaces—like "touch"—in mind
  • Comprehensive familiarity with the open-source Android environment and the libraries available for typical tasks
  • Familiarity with push alerts and cloud messaging APIs
  • Prior experience in optimizing efficiency, resolving build issues, debugging third-party libraries, and React Native libraries (both in the JavaScript layer and Native layer)
  • Strong expertise in Android Native and React Native programming, with an emphasis on performance optimization and debugging
  • Strong talent for optimization and benchmarking
  • Competent knowledge of code versioning systems, such as Git
  • Outstanding ability to solve problems and pay attention to details
  • Excellent spoken and written English communication skills
