Job description

A fast-emerging company that offers the most effective method to analyze travel alternatives and purchase tickets for over two million routes online is looking for a JavaScript Front-End Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for constantly enhancing and refining the programming that powers and drives the services. The company's exclusive routing algorithm seamlessly integrates bus and rail itineraries from several operators to create a personalized itinerary. The company has managed to raise $8 mn+ in funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Mentor teammates in an open, respectful, flexible, and empathetic manner
  • Constantly improve and enhance the code that power and drive the services
  • Troubleshoot technical issues, fix code bugs, and set up the required infrastructure
  • Set the standard and boost engineering best practices for development and operational excellence

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Comprehensive knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
  • Familiarity with CSS preprocessors, such as Sass and Less
  • Proficiency in one or more JavaScript front-end libraries or frameworks 
  • Proficiency in one or more application state management libraries such as Redux or Flux
  • Familiarity with one or more unit- or integration-testing tools like Jest, Ava, Puppeteer, or Cypress
  • Familiarity with REST API interaction and Node.js
  • Ability to build pixel-perfect implementations from design wireframes and storyboards
  • Proficiency in English
