Front-End Web Engineer

A US-based company building a robust and comprehensive online platform that enables users to shop for organic food products is looking for a Front-End Web Engineer. The engineer will join the team as a UI-focused Software Engineer and help in building beautiful e-commerce interfaces that delight shoppers at every click. The company helps customers to get an array of organic food, wellness, and household products at an affordable price. They have managed to secure $200 mn+ in funding so far. This role requires at least 4 hours of overlap with the PST time zone. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Design and create scalable, accessible, and cross-browser compatible experiences
• Optimize the site design and performance across a variety of modern devices
• Work on the UI layer architecture 
• Work closely and positively with other engineers, product managers, and designers
• Take part in stand-ups, developer grooming, etc.
• Contribute positively to enhancing both the user experience and the engineering environment

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5+ years of relevant front-end development experience
• Prior experience designing and building outstanding websites from concept to launch
• Experience with Node.js and React.js or other front-end libraries or frameworks such as Angular or Backbone.js
• Highly proficient in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Experience working on a SCRUM/Agile team
• Any experience with e-commerce is a plus
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with the expectation is to push code at least once daily 
• Sound ability to make judgment calls, own your work, and take initiative
• Fluency in written and spoken English
