Front-End Web Developer

An emerging company that has built an API platform for creating and using APIs is looking for a Front-End Web Developer. The selected candidate will be tasked with building the foundational layer of the front-end and desktop platforms. The company is fostering the power of advanced technology to help make the lives of API developers and consumers easier. The company has managed to secure close to $450 mn during their Series D round of funding. This is an exciting opportunity for developers who would like to work with the leading industry experts in an agile environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Build and develop the tools and infrastructure that will help the Product teams ship more efficiently
• Work with the most modern web technologies to build new characteristics, improve performance and development processes, accessibility, and authenticity of existing features
• Collaborate with team members and iterate rapidly to make positive impacts
• Create and own components, libraries, and frameworks
• Improve the performance and quality of the company's products by implementing and maintaining features
• Communicate with teams to spec, build, test, and deliver new features
• Improve the quality, consistency, and reliability of existing tests and create new ones
• Solve complex problems efficiently by breaking them down into smaller ones

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a front-end developer
• Extensive working experience with JavaScript, React, and Node.js
• 2+ years experience building web applications
• Prior experience working in a platform or foundation engineering team or have an understanding of the relevant problem domain
• Ability to write testable, maintainable, and easily understandable code 
• Excellent communicator with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
• Prior experience contributing to open-source front-end frameworks such as React.js and Angular.js or building tooling such as Webpack, Babel, and Browserify is desirable
• Nice to have some experience in improving web performance, security, and reliability for large scale single-page applications
• Experience working in remote-first teams is preferred
• Experience building successful open source projects is nice to have
• Experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure as code is desirable
