Job description

A US-based company that unites captains, boat owners, and sailing enthusiasts looking for adventures, through rental services, is looking for a Front-End Web Developer. The selected candidate will be tasked with designing, maintaining, and improving the user-facing features and search landing pages. The company has managed to raise $26.5 mn in funding during their Series A round. This will be a full-time role requiring an overlap of 6+ hours with the EST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Create trustworthy user experiences by utilizing current technologies to build clear, easy-to-understand, performant, and reliable interfaces
  • Partner with the product team and help make suggestions and discuss ideas
  • Mentor and train other team members in design methodologies and coding standards
  • Convert pages that are on Rails to React

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years relevant experience as a front-end developer
  • Demonstrable skills working with React and UI/UX Design
  • Nice to have some knowledge of Next.js and Ruby 
  • Experience with tracking analytics and data instrumentation on the front-end is desirable
  • Experience with the full SDLC is nice to have
  • Highly proactive and great interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
