Job description

A US-based company that assists customers in developing, distributing, and licensing digital video technologies that allow the general public to enjoy video experiences on any device, is looking for a Cloud Services Software Engineer. The engineer will be providing technical guidance, executing coding to deadlines, and day-to-day leadership for Cloud services that support the company's products and Data Analytics. The company is developing the next big innovation in video and creating breathtaking entertainment experiences for people all over the world. They have managed to raise $32mn+ during their Series D round of funding. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing technical leadership and assistance for the design
  • Adapt swiftly to new technologies and product strategies
  • Provide feedback in code reviews and design from the team Incorporate feedback in code reviews and design from the team
  • Product vision architecture and design from product and senior engineering management
  • Deliver code and documentation that follows industry best practises

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
  • Must have 3+ years experience in JavaScript (Node.js)
  • 3+ years experience in other structured languages including, but not limited to C/C++, Java, Python is a must
  • Experience with multiple database types such as DynamoDB, Neo4j, Elasticsearch, and SQL variants is required
  • Required experience in serverless and microservices technologies such as AWS Lambda, AWS Fargate, and Kubernetes
  • Must have an experience with cloud provisioning concepts such as AWS Cloud Formation or Terraform
  • Experience in REST, data analytics, and data pipelines is a plus
  • PySpark, Apache Superset, Data Lakes, Data warehousing (Snowflake) experience
  • Advanced analytical and debugging skills
  • Must be a team player and self-starter
  • Have proficient knowledge of source control technologies like GIT or SVN
  • The ability to effectively communicate architectural designs, explain the problems and solutions concisely to the small team
  • Must be able to thrive in a small team and willing to be an all-rounder
