Job description

A cloud-based shipping platform is looking for a Backend Java Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for designing and developing new features, as well as maintaining and upgrading existing tools. The company has built a trusted platform used by thousands of e-commerce merchants and integrates well with shipping carriers and multiple selling channels, including Amazon, Shopify, Etsy, eBay, etc. This is a great chance for the candidate to play an integral role in the project life cycle and work closely with other team members from the initial concept to the final release.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on implementing backend interfaces and company tools
  • Review API documentation, build and support scalable APIs, services, or applications
  • Develop integrations template, and approve for production usage
  • Iterate, Test and Troubleshoot or debug code as required
  • Consult with internal Engineers on how to improve the supporting software
  • Review test posts from 3rd party platforms while complying with the specifications

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years experience with a server-side scripting language such as Java, Golang or equivalent 
  • Prior experience with Spring Boot and Spring Data
  • Knowledge of testing methods using Junit and Katalon
  • Experience with Microservices, API and integrating RESTful APIs
  • Track record in building processes, deploying or supporting API's, and leveraging common frameworks such as message queuing, caching, scripting and complex mapping
  • Familiarity with integrating data and business processes with REST, SOAP, XML APIs
  • Experience in understanding issues around integration with large volumes of data, real-time synchronous and asynchronous integration
  • Proficiency with DevOps pipeline integration & CI/CD
  • Extensive knowledge and experience working in an Agile environment 
  • Knowledge of MongoDB and Big data is a plus
  • Proficiency with GitHub and Jira
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills in English and preferably Mandarin
