Backend Engineer

An early-stage startup developing an app that connects to POS at convenience stores in real-time and aids owners to remotely manage and monitor their stores is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will work with extensive expertise in Python, GraphQL, and will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and debugging the applications. The company is led by industry leaders with deep experience in the convenience store industry and applying analytics and business intelligence to improve industrial processes. The candidates will have the opportunity to get their hands dirty in experimenting, learning, and solving problems at scale.

Job Responsibilities:

• Accurately translate user and business needs into functional back-end code
• Work with other developers equally capable of architecting, designing, and delivering high standard applications and systems
• Work with APIs and deliver projects within realistic time and budgetary constraints
• Provide optimal solutions, as well as design and develop production code of the highest quality

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5+ years of relevant Python and GraphQL experience
• Proficient in writing code that is highly scalable, available, maintainable, and performant
• Proficient understanding of code versioning tools
• Experienced in designing and implementing application architectures
