Job description

A US-based company developing a robotic handwriting technology that is designed to create human connections through handwriting, is looking for a Back-end Engineer. The selected candidate will help cultivate the client onboarding experience with the company’s digital product, collaborate with both Sales and Account Managers on portal experience feedback as well as partner closely with the CEO and CTO on the product roadmap as the platform evolves. The company focuses on helping their clients execute handwritten direct mail campaigns with coordinated digital elements in order to drive business growth, providing the missing human touch in a nearly all-digital world. This will be an excellent opportunity for developers to demonstrate their skills and help the company to reach new audiences for a variety of different types of customers like non-profit organizations, real estate agencies, and many more.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on new projects and maintain the existing website based on Ruby on Rails
  • Participate in expanding the current technologies to better support the business needs 
  • Work with the team to improve system scalability
  • Actively participate in all development life-cycle activities, including: design, coding, testing, and deployment
  • Collaborate with all the internal departments to create a product that helps to grow the business and delight customers
  • Participate in a lot of greenfield development
  • Write code from scratch and establish ownership

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 4+ years of experience working as an engineer/developer/programmer in a production software environment
  • Proficient with Ruby on Rails with some experience in jQuery
  • Experience implementing web service technologies with HTTP, JSON, and REST
  • Experience with database technologies such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, SQL, and NoSQL
  • Experience building responsive, user-facing applications using JavaScript, React, Vue.js and GraphQL
  • Experience working in cloud environments i.e. AWS, Azure, GCE, and Kubernetes
  • Nice to have experience with database architecture and Apache Spark
  • Must be a dependable, cooperative, and responsible person who can collaborate well in a team environment
  • Independent, proactive, and can enjoy the process of creating order from uncertainty
