Job description

A fast-growing technology company providing a networking as-a-service to office owners and tenants is looking for a Backend Engineer. The engineer will work on transitioning the code from C++ to Java. Sound understanding in these areas, including CI/CD and microservices architecture, is required for this role. The platform delivers reliability and ease of use of a modern cloud service. Candidates who would like to contribute to developing solutions that enable smart buildings and workplaces are well suited for this role.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Improve the overall end-user experience for the application
  • Work closely with senior engineers to develop the best technical design and approach for product development
  • Provide technical leadership and own specific areas of the product
  • Optimize the platform for faster execution and solve scalability issues
  • Analyze technical and challenging problems to deliver results successfully
  • Implement security & data protection practices

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • Prolific experience in C++, Python, Docker, and Java
  • Experience with software-defined networking, ideally OVS
  • Good understanding of event-driven architectures and L2/L3 Networking
  • Prior experience building CI/CD pipelines 
  • Familiar with porting C applications to other modern programming languages
  • Prior working experience in MQTT, Kafka, Spring Boot, Micronauts, Kubernetes
  • Extensive knowledge of REST API design
  • Good understanding of CI/CD microservices architecture
