Job description

A fast-growing platform providing no-code tools and services for risk and compliance teams is looking for a Backend Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for a variety of projects, such as ensuring easy and performant creations of disparate detection models for non-technical users as well as setting up and implementing new data stores to enable efficient pre-computation. The company works with a high quantity of data, ranging up to 2 million transactions per second, and has monitored over $100B+ in transactions and counting. They have also raised up to $13mn in funding from top investors. This is a good opportunity as the selected candidate will join a low process and high autonomy team to collaborate with other engineers while discovering and implementing practical, innovative solutions.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on making creations of disparate detection-models performant and easy 
  • Implement a new data store to enable pre-computation on the fly
  • Explore new ways to increase performance by sub-seconds
  • Be familiar with the product and make pertinent decisions regarding what you build
  • Prioritize the most meaningful work for the company with a significant say in what you work on

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science(or equivalent experience)
  • Experience in building and owning end-to-end APIs, and infrastructure for consumer or enterprise products
  • Vast experience in one or more object-oriented languages, such as Python, Java, Scala, C#, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of one or more RDBMS, such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, etc.
  • Familiarity with one or more NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Neo4j, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, etc
  • Proficiency with data modeling and performant data access strategies
  • Knowledge of API design and optimization
  • Strong communication skills with a curious and humble attitude
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Snowflake, AWS, Terraform, React 
  • Must possess the ability to make good product decisions
  • Experience with autonomous, self-directed work
