Job description

A revolutionary London-based startup that aims to bring collective money-making to university campuses, is looking for a Back-end Developer. The developer will be involved in architectural decisions of the platform while also developing integrations with third party services. The application enables students to instantly receive cashbacks while increasing merchants’ revenue via greater footfall, higher average transaction values, increased loyalty and retention of Gen Z customers and revenue. This is an excellent opportunity to work with industry veterans who have previously worked closely with companies like JP Morgan, Perkbox, Gojimo, and several venture capital firms. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on building new back-end features using several tech stacks 
  • Perform maintenance and improvement tasks for the existing codebase to meet business needs
  • Provide impactful ideas and solutions for architectural decision making
  • Work on developing integrations using 3rd party services
  • Work with a problem-solving attitude to get things done within deadlines
  • Communicate with different team members

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of experience as a back-end developer
  • Must have a solid knowledge of Python
  • Understanding of REST principles 
  • Experience with Django and DRF in production (3+ years)
  • Experience with unit tests, testing frameworks, Celery, and Docker (local and production environments)
  • In-depth knowledge of different databases including NoSQL databases is preferred
  • Experience of working of Google Cloud APIs and services, modern front-end frameworks will be a bonus
  • Fluent in English and solid communication skills
