Job description

A US-based fintech company on a mission to help businesses empower their investment teams is looking for a Back-End Software Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for fixing bugs while interacting closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements. The company is building a cutting-edge platform for developing, testing, and deploying investment ideas. This will be a long-term full-time role that requires 6+ hours of overlap with the PST time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

Analyze the data from multiple sources and draw informed conclusions
Keep pace with the market by staying up to date on trends and applying it to software systems
Build a high-performance team and help guide junior members
Ensure that the product features are in line with the engineering best practices

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software engineer
Extensive experience in Python and its web framework (such as Django, Flask, etc.)
Familiarity with ORM libraries like SQLAlchemy is a plus
Demonstrable experience building RESTful APIs and Microservices architecture
Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
Solid understanding of the threading limitations of Python and multi-process architecture
Ability to design database tables, structures and develop queries
Working knowledge of modeling techniques such as linear regression, logistic regression, GLM
Hands-on experience deploying machine learning techniques such as Decision Trees, xgboost, random forest, PCA, etc.
Proficiency in databases (NoSQL / Postgres) is preferred
A comprehensive understanding of front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, Html5, and CSS3, is nice to have
