Job description

A fast-growing digital retail banking services provider that helps users keep track of their expenses is looking for a Back-End Software Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for writing secure, testable, maintainable code with minimal defects. The company aims to redefine the banking experiences with its personalized mobile-first, AI-based technological approach. Job Responsibilities:

  • Examine code faults, log files, metrics, and other typical troubleshooting approaches to find software flaws
  • Contribute towards building a user-facing platform
  • Understand and follow standardized software engineering processes
  • Design, develop, document, review, test, analyze, and release code
  • Document plans and features for other members of the team 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • 1-2+ years experience building back-end microservices
  • Extensive experience coding on the JVM stack using either Java or Kotlin
  • Ability to transform an idea into code and deliver it utilizing best practices in software engineering
  • Ability to select the most appropriate algorithm, data structure, and design pattern for a particular issue statement
  • Understanding of software maintenance features, runtime properties, and dependencies Knowledge of CI/CD stacks such as GoCD and Spinnaker
  • Experience working in a public cloud, like AWS
  • Familiarity with the Kubernetes ecosystem and monitoring stacks like Prometheus, Grafana, and alerting systems is nice to have
