Job description

An NYSE-listed company that empowers businesses to use data-driven insights to power mission-critical use cases is looking for a Back-End Software Engineer. The engineer will be in charge of designing and creating services and system architecture for assigned projects. The Silicon Valley-based company is determined to accelerate digital transformation for the world’s largest enterprises with the help of data cloud technologies. The company has managed to raise around $1 bn in funding so far. This will be an exciting opportunity for those who want to build robust and scalable data infrastructure software.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to and provide feedback to other team members
  • Improve code quality with extensive testing, code automation, and reviews
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for technology, algorithms, and products
  • Work with product, design, customer-success teams to understand end-user requirements, formulate use cases, and translate those into effective technical solutions
  • Dive into complex technical problems and successfully deliver results promptly
  • Own the quality of the code when it is running in production

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • Prolific experience working with Python, Node.js, and Java
  • Prior experience building distributed systems/databases
  • Experience with hosted service providers like Amazon Web Services, Google Compute Platform, Microsoft Azure, and Kubernetes
  • Previous work with design and engineering team members who reviewed each other's code/designs and held each other to an extremely high bar for quality 
  • Skilled at writing unit tests and testable code
  • Experience with continuous integration and prior participation in build and release processes
