Job description

A U.S.-based company that is pioneering the streaming platform for televisions across the world with modern technology is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for triaging, troubleshooting, and fixing bugs while aiding team members in meeting their goals. The NASDAQ-listed company helps people access the streaming content they enjoy and provides advertisers with cutting-edge ways to engage and reach consumers. The company has managed to successfully raise $200mn+ during their Series H round of funding. This role requires up to 8 hours of overlap with the Pacific time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work with the team to build highly scalable e-commerce platforms and deliver quality product features
  • Design solutions across multiple verticals, including shopping, checkout, payment, catalog, subscriptions, and disbursement
  • Develop and enhance the user experience throughout the e-commerce lifecycle
  • Address time-to-market challenges and work with the product team to design and enhance strategies to drive user engagement
  • Introduce new payment strategies to support country-specific needs 
  • Integrate with external partners and payment systems to streamline payment processing
  • Develop ideas from ideation to production deployment and support
  • Build reporting and monitoring tools to ensure the stability of the platform
  • Advocate for best practices across the entire development life cycle 
  • Lead efforts to evaluate new technologies, manage project deadlines and deliverables, and drive changes to get things done

 Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • Extensive experience in Java, Docker, and MySQL
  • Prolific experience in AWS ALB, ECS, RDS Aurora, Dynamo, or similar cloud services
  • Nice to have experience in REST, HTTPS, and JSON
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
