Job description

A US-based company building an efficient fintech platform that empowers users to step into the world of micro-investment is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The selected candidate will be working closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements. The company is on a mission to look after the financial best interests of the newly financially independent users. During their Series F round, the company secured more than $500mn in funding. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of key web services with a focus on availability, latency, and capacity
  • Take responsibility for all aspects of the code, including unit tests, automated tests, and operational support
  • Create service designs and serve as the architect's point of contact
  • Contribute to the operational health of the investment web services and drive improvement in the availability of the services

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • 2+ years of experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Knowledge of GraphQL and Typescript is a must
  • Knowledge of AWS and Azure is nice to have
  • Familiarity with Docker, S3, SNS, and SQS is nice to have
  • Familiarity with Kinesis, Firehouse, and Lambda is a plus
  • Objective, compassionate, enthusiastic, and inquisitive
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving abilities that are second-to-none
