Job description

A rapidly-growing company on a mission to revolutionize the healthcare industry with innovative solutions is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be working with the existing team to build new API and platform features focusing on the back-end. The company is determined to efficiently accelerate the direct-to-patient transformation. This role requires some overlap with the SNST time zone. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders in product, design, marketing, creative, analytics, and operations to develop the best telehealth infrastructure and experiences for customers
  • Architect and develop efficient, highly scalable, and secured services that power health commerce products
  • Design and develop data pipelines and analytics platforms for health commerce applications
  • Participate in code reviews, developing, testing, and deploying maintainable and elegant code
  • Support the team by debugging and analyzing issues that affect the usability and responsiveness of various platforms

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of experience in building highly scalable back-end services and systems
  • Proficient experience in NodeJS, PHP, Ruby, and Python
  • Strong software development expertise, displaying solid code design and coding style
  • Deep understanding of data structure, algorithm design and analysis, networking, data security, and highly scalable systems design
  • Strong knowledge of common databases and messaging frameworks like MySQL, Redis, Kafka, NATS, etc.
  • Working knowledge of the AWS ecosystem of products
  • Nice to have some experience with headless e-commerce platforms like Shopify, Bigcommerce
  • Experience with Typescript, Laravel, and Ruby on Rails is desirable
  • Some experience with Microservices architecture, CI/CD, and containers concept is nice to have
  • Prior Agile/Scrum experience is preferred
  • Must be a team player with excellent collaboration skills
