Job description

A US-based online content sharing platform with a global audience that has cemented itself in pop culture, is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will join the core safety team and be responsible for consistently shipping features and improvements with minimal guidance and support. The platform enables users to submit links, create content, and have discussions within carefully curated communities about the topics of their interest. The company has managed to raise more than $1.2bn during their Series F round of funding. This position requires a significant overlap with the PST time zone. 

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Assist with microservices migration projects
  • Work on planning, designing, and optimizing some really cool VR and AR apps
  • Work closely with the team to write automation tests, understand requirements, build solutions, deliver functionality, and build continuous delivery pipelines
  • Integrate front-end elements with server-side logic and functionalities
  • Effectively collaborate with product teams and engineering professionals to meet product requirements and build innovative solutions

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • 3+ years of experience identifying and executing high impact projects is a must
  • 3+ years experience with Python
  • Familiarity with API platform service architectures is required
  • Must have an experience with distributed caching layers and distributed large scale data storage
  • Must have experience in Golang and Kubernetes
  • Great communication skills to collaborate with a service-oriented team 
  • Proven record of mentorship and leveling up the team
