Job description

A US-based non-profit foundation providing trans peer support, community-wide helpline, and financial aid, is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be collaborating and delivering against an ambitious product roadmap. The organization is banking on the power of peer support and community to turn a trans person’s life around. This is a great opportunity for developers to help with a worthy cause while sharpening their skill sets.

  

Job Responsibilities:

  • Be passionate to learn new technologies quickly and implement them in coding frameworks
  • Take charge of your own codebase and suggest improvements in the existing code 
  • Coordinate with the front-end to ensure all developers are on the same page
  • Work closely with the engineering team in all aspects of development
  • Be able to accept accountability and work within stringent deadlines
  • Actively participate in team meetings with the product and engineering teams

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • Must have at least 4 years of experience in Ruby on Rails and MySQL
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
