Job description

An award-winning financial technology company focused on bringing world-renowned traders and their tools to the public is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for leading the development of new data-driven back-end service projects. The company's proprietary trade identification tools, sophisticated algorithmic scanners, and a large library of trading and investing education distinguishes them from competitors. This is a nice opportunity for developers who enjoy contributing to engineering innovative solutions. 


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop scalable, high-performance APIs
  • Manage cloud infrastructure and optimize infrastructure for cost and performance
  • Lead junior engineers in back-end development and guide them through standard industry best practices
  • Design, implement, test, and maintain the back-end services
  • Strike a balance between time to market as well as high-quality code

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • 3+ years of experience working with Node.js / Express 
  • 3+ years of experience with relational database technologies like MySQL, NoSQL, and other database technologies
  • Experience using Redis for in-memory caching
  • Experience using Socket.IO
  • Strong knowledge of writing efficient SQL queries for large data sets
  • Strong knowledge and experience working with asynchronous programming
  • Nice to have some knowledge of deploying and maintaining cloud services like AWS 
  • Familiarity with RabbitMQ, PHP, and Linux is desirable
