Job description

A US-based company that has developed a content-sharing platform with a staggering 300mn+ users worldwide is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The selected candidate will be in charge of diagnosing and fixing application bottlenecks to improve performance. The platform enables users to post content as well as comment and vote on the content posted by others. They have managed to raise more than $1bn during their Series F round of funding. This role requires a significant overlap with the PST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Mentor and help junior developers to up-skill themselves
  • Design and build well-functioning high-performance applications
  • Comprehend and impact the product vision
  • Translate business goals into well-defined strategic plans

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • 3+ years of experience identifying and executing high impact projects
  • 3+ years of experience working with Python and other related technologies
  • Familiarity with API platform service architectures and SQL
  • Experience with distributed caching layers, and distributed large scale data storage
  • Nice to have some knowledge of Golang and Kubernetes
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with a service-oriented team and company
