Job description

A fast-growing company building innovative technologies to identify Product Qualified Leads and push them into the sales funnel to increase conversion rates, is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The selected candidate will be responsible for the technical leadership. The company uses data science to build the next-generation sales tool to serve product-led-growth companies. This is a great opportunity to shape culture and influence the innovative product.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of the back-end services, including event ingestion architecture, data infrastructure, and ML pipeline
  • Build a scalable, robust, and secure back-end to handle large amounts of event data and analytical processing on the modern data stack
  • Create dedicated services to ingest and process millions of events daily 
  • Take responsibility for the core data pipelines and scale-up data processing flow
  • Configure intuitive, stable, and extensible APIs 
  • Direct how data should be partitioned and infrastructure set up, optimize for security and latency
  • Implement systems tracking the quality and consistency of data ingested by the company’s clients
  • Setup abstractions that empower others to ship quickly through a thoughtful and generalizable interface
  • Take a leadership role in engineering syncs, reviewing design documentation and pull requests, and more

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • Extensive knowledge of Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Airflow, etc
  • Experience building data-heavy back-end systems 
  • Some knowledge of Scala 
  • Experience working with data warehouses like Snowflake, BigQuery, and Redshift 
  • Experience with third-party event sources such as Segment
  • Nice to have some knowledge of Scala
  • Proficiency in at least one of the SQL languages like MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and Oracle
  • Nice to have some experience with workflow management tools like Airflow, Oozie, Prefect, and Dagster
  • Prior startup experience is nice to have 
  • Ability to progress rapidly, innovate, and build with open-source software
