Job description

A US-based consumer genomics company building a DNA App Store is looking for a Back-End engineer. The engineer will be responsible for building the back-end system of the company’s core platform. The company is on a mission to help the advancement of genomics and health science. It has raised a funding of over $8 mn so far. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity that requires 2-3 hours of time overlap with PST.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop back-end system of the company’s core platform
  • Lead software design, task allocation, and implementation
  • Perform testing, documentation, ongoing support, and maintenance
  • Optimize the platform for faster execution and solve scalability issues
  • Implement security & data protection practices

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • Proficiency in Python and AWS development
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, CSS, and HTML
  • Expertise working with relational databases such as SQL, MySQL, etc.
  • Prolific skills developing large systems software design, storage, networking, deployment, etc.
