Job description

A leading predictive software platform providing rapid automated, accurate predictions that are scalable and accessible to all is looking for a Back-End Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for the complete software development life cycle, including requirement analysis, design, development, deployment, tooling, and support. Together with serial entrepreneurs, creators, industry luminaries, and world-class VCs, the company has developed an easy-to-use platform that allows business users to ask predictive questions and receive fast accurate results. The selected candidate will work in a fast-moving environment with evolving requirements and grow rapidly. This will be a full-time, long-term role requiring an overlap with the PST and CET time zones.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate actively and contribute meaningfully to discussions around design and development
  • Build software around frameworks and find ways to avoid manual tasks
  • Drive software engineering best practices, including design, code, tests, optimization, integration, monitoring, and deployment
  • Design and develop architectures that scale and extend easily for longevity
  • Discuss technical tradeoffs and apply data-driven techniques to evaluate and propose architectural choices

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end engineer
  • Must be experienced in Golang, Python, GraphQL, and Rest
  • Nice to have some proficiency in Kubernetes, Docker, Lambda functions, or other cloud-native technologies
  • Comfortable working in unfamiliar territories that require creative thinking and practice to make progress 
  • Prior experience in security, fraud, and anomaly detection is a plus
  • Ability to build and design technical solutions from scratch
  • Robust code and documentation expertise
  • Sound enthusiasm to learn others and practical experience to design APIs
  • Passion for building large scalable distributed systems
  • Familiarity with secure software design principles
