Job description

A fast-growing US-based company that aims to become the global leader in embedded payments technology is looking for a Back-end Engineer. The developer must have a strong understanding of a broad spectrum of AWS services. The company provides clients with efficient solutions to effectively map out immediate and long-term embedded payments strategies by channeling their development expertise in the deep payment space. Their Series A round of fundings managed to raise more than $70mn for the company. This will be a long-term, full-time role that requires at least 5 hours overlap with the EST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help elevate the system and build a better platform for a high-quality user experience
  • Improve the existing products and build innovative new ones
  • Take a data-driven approach to development
  • Own, document, and successfully execute high-level initiatives
  • Build and maintain a set of payments related microservices
  • Participate in code reviews and discussions about architecture, or design
  • Communicate the status of the projects to internal stakeholders

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant back-end engineering experience 
  • Extensive experience working with Typescript, Node.js and AWS
  • Strong AWS knowledge, especially on serverless architectures and services like storying, database layers, and an understanding of cloud formation
  • Nice to have prior experience working with payment platforms/technologies
  • Sound knowledge of PHP legacy code is nice to have
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
  • Must have a heightened sense of ownership and accountability
  • Ability to collaborate on projects and also work independently
