Job description

A US-based fitness platform featuring live elite trainers is looking for a Backend Engineer. As a developer, you will utilize your strong technical expertise in developing robust solutions to manage the data, APIs, live video systems, and other critical back-end features. The company has grown rapidly with over 300% in sales and raised close to $300 mn in funding. It is backed by Softbank, General Catalyst, Norwest Venture Partners, Founders Fund, etc. This job presents a great opportunity for the candidate to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment while collaborating with an all-star team including alumni from Google, YouTube, Netflix, Airbnb, Pixar, and Orangetheory.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust solutions to manage our data, APIs, and live video systems
  • Manage the system architecture development
  • Design and build other critical back-end features
  • Optimize the platform for faster execution and solve scalability issues
  • Effectively collaborate with product teams and engineering professionals 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ years of professional software development experience in back-end development roles
  • Deep expertise in Python/Flask development
  • Experience with AWS and programming with Linux
  • Familiarity with DevOps and general Systems Architecture
  • Familiarity with Git and Agile best practices
  • Experience with continuous integration (Travis, Circle, Jenkins, etc.) and shipping clean, maintainable code
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Passion for fitness and a strong desire to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Experience with SQL or other relational databases
