Job description

A rapidly-growing company that is providing clients with all the necessary tools and resources they require to build their own business or startup is looking for a Back-End Developer. The developer will work independently with other engineers to develop user experience-focused web applications. The company's next-gen startup suite is geared to help emerging entrepreneurs fulfill their dreams and reach new business heights. Job Responsibilities:

  • Produce scalable software solutions
  • Work as part of a cross-functional team to maintain the entire full software development life cycle, from conception to deployment
  • Take responsibility and drive major architectural changes in the company
  • Push the company forward by adopting new technologies and setting higher standards
  • Provide software support for existing systems
  • Collaborate with designers, front-end developers, stakeholders, and clients to understand business goals, analyze requirements, formulate solutions, and ensure the successful execution and delivery of the end product
  • Assist in scoping, estimating, and planning projects
  • Develop and manage well-functioning databases and applications
  • Write effective APIs and test software to ensure responsiveness and efficiency
  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade software
  • Create security and data protection settings
  • Write technical documentation
  • Participate in code review, pairing, and other forms of knowledge sharing

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer 
  • Prior experience developing websites and/or VR applications
  • A minimum of 3+ years of production experience with Elixir & Phoenix Framework
  • Prolific experience developing back-end services and JSON APIs to power single-page web applications
  • Experience designing APIs and working with databases (preferably PostgreSQL and MongoDB)
  • Experience working with a cross-functional team in an agile environment
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
