Job description

A fast-emerging company delivering world-class omnichannel and digital experiences as well as opulent in-person services with excellence is looking for a Back-End Developer. The selected candidate will collaborate with the QA and product/program teams to execute the product vision and help establish new processes for organizational efficiency. The company aims at becoming an industry leader and one of the world's most sought-after brands in luxury re-commerce. It has successfully raised close to $40 mn in funding so far.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and run applications running on AWS-powered infrastructure
  • Collaborate with the management and QA to execute and implement the product vision
  • Build a scaled search experience and new ways of discovering products
  • Create robust, secure, and scalable APIs for CRUD interfaces and for user-facing applications using Oauth, JWT, and similar authentication techniques
  • Build a distributed cache that can scale millions of API requests and page views using Elasticsearch and Redis
  • Learn quickly and work collaboratively with others in the team
  • Carry out code reviews and stick to changing priorities in a dynamic work environment
  • Build software culture and set standards for coding practices

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • A minimum of 3+ years of total back-end experience using either Node.js, PHP, Python, Ruby, Java, or .NET 
  • At least 3+ years of experience working with Node.js in a full production environment
  • Prior experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Demonstrable experience with Lambdas and the Serverless framework
  • Experience building cloud-based, distributed, resilient systems with the ability to handle large and variable traffic volumes
  • Prolific experience with Lambdas and the Serverless framework
  • Solid understanding of web technologies such as HTML/CSS, JS, REST/JSON
  • Familiarity with content management systems
  • Experience with CI/CD: Git, GitHub, and CircleCI
  • Experience with PHP and the Lumen/Laravel framework is preferred but not required
  • Fluent in verbal and written English
