Job description

A fast-growing company offering training that will help people to improve their financial management skills is looking for a Back-End Developer. The selected candidate will be tasked with managing the entire lifecycle of the product, from design to documentation. The US-based company is providing interest-free lending to help working families and individuals access and improve their credit. This position requires 5-6+ hours of overlap with the EST time zone. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Architect, develop, test, and deploy product and its augmentations 
  • Work as a team lead to make important design and development decisions
  • Monitor and ensure the required product quality
  • Keep track of the company’s progress in daily team syncs and update the ticket status
  • Refine product requirements by conducting research and communicating it with relevant stakeholders 
  • Assist the leadership in revamping and mitigating product backlog weekly
  • Work with the team to brainstorm ideas and perform sprint planning 
  • Assist in managing the team in the delivery of sprint commitments
  • Quickly surface issues and any deviations from the plan to relevant stakeholders 
  • Create necessary endpoint documentation for future use 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer 
  • Extensive experience with Python or similar high-level programming languages
  • Hands-on experience with Python 3+ syntax
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the FastAPI or Flask frameworks
  • Demonstrable knowledge of API design patterns
  • Prior experience in SQL, PostgreSQL, and related Python ORMs specific features
  • Experience with user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments is required 
  • Prolific experience working with RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge about background task processing and queues is preferred 
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git
  • Demonstrable experience writing well-structured OOP code
  • Passionate about the Fintech industry is a plus
  • Capacity to successfully organize and manage working with an agile environment
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
