Job description

A well-established company that has developed a cutting-edge platform to assist B2B businesses in making quick, fee-free payments is looking for a Back-End Developer. The developer will work closely with the Head of Engineering to design, build out, and maintain the platform services on the AWS cloud. The VC-backed company is building a destination for small businesses to connect, transact, and grow together. The US-based company has raised more than $13.5mn in funding so far. The selected candidate will address production problems, find quick fixes, and implement intermediate and long-term solutions.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement the platform services in a scalable and long-term way, employing current and authorized open-source frameworks
  • Create a long-term unit and integration testing methodology for back-end services to guarantee that we are in compliance
  • Customize and implement a CI/CD pipeline that meets industry-leading quality requirements
  • Cost-effectively automate the design and deployment of our AWS infrastructure
  • Integration with several vendors using REST API
  • Communicate transparently and effectively on various essential issues
  • Collaborate with the team on design and best practices, and mentor junior developers

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 7+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
  • Core skills in technical architecture, SDLC, and Object-Oriented design principles
  • Great understanding of Gang of Four design patterns
  • Intimate knowledge of Java 8+ & J2EE technologies
  • Knowledge of Python or Golang is nice to have
  • Strong technical knowledge of cloud-based infrastructures like AWS, Docker, and ECS/Kubernetes
  • Prolific experience working with Relational Databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or any major proprietary databases
  • Extensive experience working with AWS Services around NoSQL DB (MongoDB) and Redis
  • Good understanding of AWS infrastructure management. Knowledge of Terraform is a plus
  • Extensive expertise in Messaging systems like RabbitMQ and Kafka
  • Strong desire to learn the essentials of the gaps in any of the above-mentioned stack items quickly
  • Ability to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision
