Job description

A US-based company that enables fund administrators, general partners, broker-dealers, and limited partners to connect with each other, is looking for a Back-End Developer. The selected candidate will be tasked with expanding how the company thinks while helping the team to stay lean. The platform uses a private, permissioned blockchain to facilitate and ledger the transaction of private and illiquid assets. This will be a full-time position that requires some overlap with the EST time zone. This is a rare chance for developers to help build the world’s most advanced FinTech platform.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Write a correct unit test, and understand other test framework strategies
  • Communicate well with teammates with a commitment to good technical docs and specs
  • Release lean, resilient code that builds the business and strengthen the technical foundations of the next stage of growth
  • Ship high-quality, performant, and elegant code while building a great technical culture to refine the company’s game
  • Refine and advance the logic at the core of engines that drives the platform
  • Analyze, develop, and take ownership of systems, including API, data model, state machine, blockchain, auth and permissions, docs, and infrastructure.
  • Develop a deep internalization of most or all facets of the data model, and necessities behind the business logic

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
  • Extensive experience working with TypeScript, Data modeling, and Node.js
  • Prior experience integrating data from an external API or data store in an existing system
  • Knowledge of RDBMS, NoSQL, API design, and trade-offs
  • Knowledge working with framework patterns of application architecture and patterns
  • Experience with cloud-hosted infrastructure
  • Skilled at UNIX shell, including jobs and userland tools like the cut or grep
  • Experience working with version control technologies like Git, TFS, and Hg
  • Prior experience writing or maintaining a deploy strategy with automated testing in CI/CD pipeline
  • Ability to perform team estimation and planning while having a good understanding of the value of work prep
  • Prolific experience with Blockchain and Hyperledger is nice to have
  • Experience working on a system with multi-tenancy is desirable
  • Some experience with data engineering or ETL and document systems is preferred
  • Prior experience working with security or compliance is desirable
  • Nice to have some experience with Docker or other containerization solution
  • Familiarity with container orchestration like Kubernetes, ECS, and Mesos
  • Experience with a functional programming language like Scala or Clojure is preferred
  • Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation
  • Knowledge of advanced cloud infrastructure like HA, messaging, CDNs, sharding is nice to have
  • Ability to bring in fresh perspectives that support both product and engineering needs
  • Accepted non-trivial PR on a FOSS project
  • Prior experience working in the financial industry
