Job description

A well-established company that is transforming the way hospitals operate by improving how records are kept and operations are managed, is looking for a Back-End Developer. The developer will be tasked with optimizing the application for maximum speed and scalability. The company uses high-value technology to provide creative solutions for healthcare stakeholders in emerging markets. During their Series A round, the company raised $12 mn+ in funding. This will be a long-term and full-time position that requires some overlap with the WAT time zone.

Job Responsibilities:

Maintain and support existing production code in the field
Integrate user-facing elements developed by a front-end developer with the API
Build reusable code and libraries for future use
Develop and distribute new features and products to the client base
Collaborate with teams and engineers across the company to deliver meaningful solutions
Develop secure, robust, high-performance service applications using Elixir, Phoenix, and PHP
Provision, configure and develop against remote infrastructure in AWS

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
At least 3-6+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
Demonstrable software architectural experience
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Demonstrable skills working with Elixir, Ruby, Phoenix, and PHP
Good to have some knowledge of Jenkins, Docker
Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and key-value stores (Memcache, Redis)
Experience working on the separation of centralized services into microservices
Experience with Git, Ansible/Chef/Puppet, or similar tools
Pride in readable, well-designed, well-tested software.
Good oral and written communication skills
