Back-End Developer

An early-stage startup building products that bridge the gap between creators and fans is looking for a Back-End Developer. The developer will take charge of building the back-end of the product, including the battle pass, market, and others. The company has developed a product that gamifies fan engagement for creators and other digital brands, allowing them to monetize normal fan activity through free-to-play game paradigms. They have successfully raised up to $3 mn in funding from leading investors. This is an excellent opportunity for the candidate to build products that scale in the creator/digital economy and craft new entertainment systems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work with the front-end team to bridge the two sides of the product together
• Mentor and guide junior developers to ensure code quality and career growth 
• Move and ship quickly while iterating on the products
• Be flexible, wear many hats, and take on various responsibilities

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
• Experience in NodeJS
• Previous experience building other projects, be it for school, work, or a side project
• Familiarity with blockchains/Solidity is a plus
• Nice to be conversant with popular video game language and paradigms, especially those from free-to-play mobile games (e.g. "battle pass", "gacha")
• Eagerness to work with crypto, the possibilities of decentralization, and future of ownership
• Excited to work in uncertainty and ambiguity while making decisions
• Prior gaming expertise and passion for video games
