Job description

An industry-defining ed-tech company shaping the future of education with their advanced platform for continued development of online education is looking for a Back-End Developer. The selected candidate will be working closely with passionate education experts to build new scalable features and relevant technological solutions. The leading platform enables teachers and educational institutions to conduct live classes, create tests, share learning material, and interactively connect with students. During their Series B round of funding, the company raised more than $110 mn in funding. This position calls for significant overlap with the IST time zone.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop the application's back end
  • End to end delivery of new features
  • Evolve the architecture for performance and scalability.
  • Design, develop and own components of a highly scalable, distributed web services platform
  • Constantly strive to improve the software development process and team productivity
  • Seamlessly collaborate with Mobile and Web Development team

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 4+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
  • Proficient in Python and Django/Flask
  • Demonstrable experience with databases like MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis
  • Familiarity with Stream processing software like Kafka
  • Experience working with algorithms and software design optimized for large scale distributed software systems
  • Nice to have some knowledge of Spark/Pandas
  • Prior experience with Google Cloud Platform/AWS is desirable
  • Knowledge of Other languages like C++/Java is beneficial
