Job description

A fast-growing firm that has developed an all-in-one tax and accounting app to help users reduce their tax strain is looking for a Back-End Developer. The selected candidate will be working closely with the tech lead, project manager, and product team to shape new functionality while being responsible for its development. The company helps simplify financial life, measure and track monetary health, and classify users' expenses. This will be a full-time role that requires some overlap with the PST/EST time zones. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Explore ways to improve the performance and reliability of systems 
  • Come up with new methods to make the underlying code better in general
  • Build out new features with little micromanaging
  • Assist the operations team in fixing bugs and responding to technical issues as the company goes into Beta
  • Learn about and use new web technologies
  • Collaborate with a small, tight-knit team

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a back-end developer
  • Prolific experience with PHP and Laravel
  • Experience building Docker containers with PHP Laravel 
  • Ability to communicate ideas and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
