Job description

A fast-growing US-based financial platform that allows customers to search, file, and collect tax credits, government incentives, deductions, and stimulus schemes, is looking for a Back-End Developer. The developer will be helping the existing team to build out and influence the design for the company’s front-end web properties. The company is dedicated to reshaping the US economic landscape by assisting customers in retaining their lawful money that accountants may overlook when filing for government auditing and tax services. The company has secured $60 mn+ in funding during their Series A round. This role requires some overlap with the PST time zone and will be a full-time position. This is a great opportunity for developers to work closely with a talented design team to balance launch timelines and product perfection.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help define the future of and contribute directly to the company’s core product platform and infrastructure
  • Create clean abstractions for performant services that the feature teams will use
  • Build the next generation of data ingestion and billing infrastructure
  • Assist in up-leveling the team’s technology and processes as they scale and iterate rapidly
  • Be a steward of core security and design principles
  • Own and drive technical decisions while solving problems for customers and business
  • Lead the design and development of new features on top of the current onboarding and company portal
  • Help structure the components in a re-usable manner

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years experience building and maintaining production software in a back-end focused or generalist role
  • Extensive experience with Node, Typescript, and Google Cloud Infrastructure
  • Nice to have some FinTech domain experience
  • Some familiarity with billing and payments systems is desirable
  • Ability to flex into front-end development when necessary for the needs of the business
  • Proficient in coaching and mentoring junior developers
  • Experience operating cross-functionally with the engineering, product, and design teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaborative skills
