Back-End Developer

A MIT-incubated and venture-backed global data and analytics firm that helps clients better manage risk that may impact credit, credibility and reputation, is looking for a Back-end Developer. The developer will be contributing to the team by using the right tools to build incrementally and iterate rapidly while collaborating with cross-functional on designs and implementations. The platform utilizes unique products that leverage cutting-edge computer science and deep domain expertise to convert the world’s data into actionable insights that power decision-making at global financial institutions, corporates and governments. The company has managed to raise $9.1 mn in funding so far. This is a great opportunity for developers to work in a complex domain with a small, globally distributed team. 

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to build scalable engineering solutions
• Develop and maintain several aspects of production systems like including services using Go, Python, Scala, databases using PostgreSQL, and Docker using AWS DevOps
• Develop or implement new services and infrastructure for greenfield projects such as public APIs 
• Contribute to several other product development ideas
• Actively participate in regular code reviews
• Contribute to architectural decisions and provide valuable inputs on RFC processes
• Guide and mentor members on the team
• Communicate regularly with different teams to streamline development

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of experience as a back-end developer
• Minimum 3+ years of experience working with cross-functional stakeholders
• Must have at least 2 years of experience as a Golang expert
• At least 1 year(s) of professional experience using Scala, Python, and Graph DB
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English
• Knowledge of design, implementation, and testing of production features
• Ability to maintain and monitor production systems
• Knowledge of rapid iteration or prototyping over-extended debate, public-facing RESTful APIs,  ElasticSearch, Solr, Nginx, and Grafana is preferred
• Experience in working with build tools and automated build pipelines
• Knowledge of AWS specializing in managed services such as ECS over EC2
• In-depth knowledge of Docker would be an added advantage
