Job description

A rapidly-growing company active in the location data and structured databases space, is looking for a Back-end Developer. The developer will be responsible for building and optimizing the back-end of the existing platform. The selected candidate will get an opportunity to work with a team of experts who are knowledgeable in multiple areas including retail analytics, site selection, geolocation data, out-of-home advertising and urban planning. This is a great role for developers who are willing to apply a broad skill-set towards building cutting-edge software and bring innovative solutions to the tech industry.


Job Responsibilities:

  • Build scalable, robust, responsive, and well-documented stacks
  • Integrate front-end elements with server-side logic and functionalities
  • Optimize and maintain the platform for faster execution and solve scalability issues
  • Implement security & data protection practices
  • Build out quality well designed and scalable applications and carry out platform integrations

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 3+ years of relevant big data engineering experience as a back-end developer
  • Prolific experience with Scala and Java
  • Must have demonstrable experience in Apache Spark, streaming frameworks and Kubernetes
  • Experience with HBase, Airflow and AWS
  • Prior work experience with API Design and development
  • Nice to have some knowledge of Python, Scala Play, and Kafka
  • Prior experience with building ML systems and geospatial/ spatio-temporal data along with DevOps work is nice to have
  • Fluent in written and spoken English
