Job description

A New York-based company developing a group entertainment app and developer platform for multiplayer games is looking for a Back-end Developer. As a talented developer, you will join the team and be responsible for designing and implementing the back-end framework and APIs powering the fun and engaging native application and its SDK. The company has raised over $28M from top-tier investors and some of the top makers of video games in the world. This is a unique opportunity for those who would like to join a small team working on a fast-growing consumer product and make an impact. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Implement back-end services to support the company’s rapidly growing network
  • Own services from design to launch and beyond
  • Evaluate trade-offs to iterate quickly while not compromising on stability and quality
  • Continually improve app performance while also maintaining excellent code quality
  • Architect efficient and reusable back-end as well as front-end systems
  • Write clean, maintainable, and robust code
  • Ensure that the software keeps running, and be quick to respond to service incidents
  • Design and implement the back-end framework & APIs powering the company’s fun and engaging native app and its SDK

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience building back-end services for public-facing mobile or web applications
  • 3+ years of cloud experience using AWS, GCP, or Azure 
  • Skilled with technologies like gRPC, GCP, Firebase, and Redis
  • Must have a passion for well-designed products
  • Capable of collaborating with technical and non-technical staff, including designers
  • Must have a passion for usability, user experience, and an empathetic approach to building software
  • Must possess solid empathy & interpersonal skills for building a shared vision around your work
